Hailed as “an audacious architect of world music,” double necked violin virtuoso and vocalist L. Shankar bridges Carnatic Indian music traditions with jazz, rock, and pop and is renowned for his award-winning solo projects and collaborations with Frank Zappa, the Talking Heads, Lou Reed, Marianne Faithful, Sting, Michael Jackson, and many more, as well as being the co-founder of Shakti with John McLaughlin and Zakir Hussain. He will be joined by the highly respected tabla accompanist, Amit Kavthekar.
