HILO is an exhibition of contemporary textile artists from across the country. Textiles have the power to draw us in: reminding us of the familiar and functional, reflecting community and surroundings. The artists play with these connotations through diverse and innovative methods of making. From weaving from hand-spun wool to constructing translucent vinyl banners and elegant bed-sized compositions, the artists draw from traditions in ways that are decidedly their own.
