As we enter the holiday season after a tumultuous year of politics, one thing we can all agree on and celebrate is the joy we give and receive through our involvement in the arts. Whether we are performers, students, or audience members, I believe we can we all agree that the arts inspire and lift us together to a better place. In this season of celebration, family, and generosity, we are asking you once again this year (as you do every year) to answer Outpost’s Year-End Fundraising Appeal—we call it SEASON’S PLEADINGS— so that we may continue to share our cultural cornucopia with you. Season’s Pleadings is our most important fundraising appeal of the year, when your tax-deductible gift has the greatest impact on Outpost’s programs! Where ticket sales in our small space can only provide 35% of our income, it should be clear that, in order to continue to provide world class music, art and educational programs in our intimate, friendly, respectful Outpost Performance Space and beyond, WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT.
Last spring and the fall season so far, have been great at Outpost in so many ways! We had a terrific spring and summer season (including Hubby Jenkins, Magos Herrera, Raul Midón, the Goldings, Bernstein, Stewart Organ Trio, Ethan Iverson, and the all-NM-based Artists’ Summer Thursday Jazz Nights Series). In September, we presented the 18th Annual New Mexico Jazz Festival featuring a stunning and exciting three and a half weeks of music (25 events in 25 days) in Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Taos with memorable performances by Dave Holland, Joshua Redman, Ranky Tanky and Ms. Lisa Fischer, Meshell Ndegeocello, Jazzmeia Horn, Marc Ribot, John Santos and so many more! Flip this letter over and you will see what we offered this past year plus a few Teaser Highlights for our Spring 2025 Season, which opens in late February. It’s going to be another exciting one, and again, IT’S ONLY MADE POSSIBLE WITH YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT!

We’re still deep in all the excitement of the 18th Annual New Mexico Jazz Festival and we look forward to seeing you at all the fantastic concerts and events coming up throughout September! At the same time, the Outpost Fall Season 2024 comes right on the heels of the Jazz Festival, starting October 17 with Delbert Anderson’s Cherry Pepper Project, followed by the great Zakir Hussain and Rahul Sharma on October 24, plus Myra Melford, Kassa Overall, Rahim AlHaj, the Django Festival Allstars, another awesome CD/Vinyl Fair, and so much more! The 18th Annual New Mexico Jazz Festival, a collaborative project of the Outpost Performance Space and the Lensic Performing Arts Center in Santa Fe, is going to be a fantastic three weeks of music in Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Taos with the opening weekend featuring seven-time Grammy nominated Latin Jazz percussionist John Santos (pictured above) and his Sextet at the Albuquerque Museum Amphitheater on Friday, September 6! Plus much more! Get Your Tickets Today! Some shows are already sold out or close to it! The SFJAZZ Collective 7:30pm show on Thursday, Sept 26 is sold out, but we have added a second show at 9:30pm!
