The recipient of several prestigious awards and honors, jazz guitarist, Gilad Hekselman, a native of Israel, placed first in the Downbeat Magazine Rising Star category in 2017, the same year that he won the 7 Virtual Jazz Club International Competition. He has established himself as one of the leading voices in jazz guitar and in 2018, was asked by guitar legend Pat Metheny to perform as part of his NEA Award ceremony at The Kennedy Center. Based in New York City since 2004, Heckselman has shared stages with Chris Potter, Anat Cohen (at Outpost), Esperanza Spalding, Gretchen Parlato, Avishai Cohen, John Scofield, Danilo Perez and many others and has played all the major jazz clubs in the City, including the Blue Note, The Jazz Standard, Dizzy's, Smalls, and The Village Vanguard, where he performed with his own quartet in May 2019. Heckselman tours worldwide and has played many of the noteworthy jazz festivals (Montreux, North Sea, Montreal, etc.). He released his full-length album, Ask For Chaos, in fall 2018 on his new record label, Hexophonic Music, which was followed by an EP, Further Chaos (May 2019). Tonight, he is joined by bassist Dave Robaire and drummer Jonathan Pinson.
