Outpost welcomes Working Classroom in an Evening of Improvised Commedia dell’arte directed by renowned director and actor, Bill Cusack. Since 1988, Cusack has been a member of the Actors’ Gang (founded in Los Angeles in1984) as well as a founding member of New Crime Productions. Both of these award winning companies in which he has played a major role as an actor, director and designer, are based in the Commedia dell’Arte form. Working Classroom is known for producing thought-provoking work which resonates with culturally diverse audiences. They support emerging playwrights, directors and actors from historically-ignored communities and are known for their productions featuring original work generated by an ensemble working collaboratively with a playwright, director, and designer. Working Classroom is the 2010 winner of the Otto Rene Castillo Award for Political Theatre. The Working Classroom ensemble includes Daniel Cabrera, Samantha Contreras, Danielle Fleming, Daniel Garcia, Sheena Mccown, Marta Martinez, Giovanni Rascon, and Sonya Tijerina. $10/$5 Members & Students. |
